Your passion for the investment field drives your desire to engage in direct investment support in the new role of Delivery Manager, COO Services. You aspire to work within a multidisciplinary team as part of a newly established Investment Performance team. This position is for you!
You will work closely with members of the Investment Performance (IP) team and all members assigned to this team on a matrix basis. You will serve as the operational leader of one of the team’s support units, or “pods,” without being an official team leader. You will report directly to the head of the IP team, with your responsibilities outlined below.
Responsibilities of the Investment Performance team
- Provide comprehensive support for the activities of various internal partners, including investment teams and specialized investment support teams like Risk;
- Ensure streamlined access to portfolio management data, such as positions and performance metrics;
- Carry out performance calculations for internal clients in Investments;
- Take charge of the integration of new activities and new products;
- Develop ad hoc analyses on existing portfolios;
- Assist in building client market analyses;
- Ensure coordination with the operations and IT teams;
- Provide personalized support to your specific clients while creating cross-functional services for all clients, minimizing redundancies.
Your responsibilities as Delivery Manager
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the various clients supported by your unit, or “pod”;
- Coordinate the activities of your pod using an agile approach, including daily scrums and backlog management;
- Work in fusion mode with the IT service delivery team for Investments.
- Build connections between the various contributors to deliver IP services;
- Know your clients and share this knowledge with your pod;
- Engage with your clients’ DMS events to ensure alignment;
- Coordinate your unit’s activities with the IP leader;
- Report on your unit’s activities to both your clients and the IP leader;
- Optimize the use of services provided by various support centres (Solutions, Data, Analytics, Visualization), and determine when to perform tasks directly or delegate them;
- Identify transformations that need to be managed in project mode and initiate those projects;
- Promote team spirit within your unit, fostering a cohesive, multidisciplinary team.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with other leaders in the sector;
- Provide continuous feedback to service centres supporting the sector;
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Operations teams (Investments);
- Propose and implement improvements to processes and work methods;
- Coordinate and manage the cross-functional initiatives assigned to you.
Desired profile
- Bachelor’s degree in financial engineering, finance, business administration, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- Master’s degree or doctorate an asset
- Additional asset: CFA, FRM or comparable certification
- A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in investment-related roles and deep knowledge of investments
- Dual financial and digital skills, backed by experience and training
- Deep sense of accountability and strong customer focus
- Strongly results-oriented
- Advanced level of French and English language proficiency, as the role will involve strategic verbal and written interactions with Toronto-based internal clients within the Investment sector and with various unilingual English-speaking third parties in the capital markets environment, primarily CIBC Mellon, all on a regular basis (approximately 30% of the time)
